Hi Paul, I’m wondering if you’ve done one for Windows 8 yet. I managed to make it through this version of the clean-up for Steps 1 and 2 but step 3 has got me stumped. Thanks, Lisa

  • I heard with an SSD drive defrag should not be done. Thoughts?

    • Sam

Fragmentation is a good thing for SSDs, it helps them work faster, so no, don’t defrag it.

      • westcomp

        Yes Sam you are right.

  • Elbert Dugdale

Cool. I used to do all of this in the early days. Completely forgot about it. Thanks.

    • westcomp

No problem, I’m glad I could remind you!

  • Simon Cornelius

Thanks for the tips, especially the one about disabling unwanted programs at startup.

I will use ccleaner once in a while, which takes care of step 1.
